Sometimes, less is indeed more. That seems to be a belief shared by master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, who started working with 1,200 ingredients and gradually narrowed the palette to 110. Born into a perfumer family in Grasse, the epicenter of the French perfume industry, Ellena's profound connection with fragrance was cultivated from a young age. His journey in perfumery started at only 16 years old and has been marked by a constant quest for innovation and a deep understanding of olfactory elements, which he has also explored through authoring books like "Perfume: The Alchemy of Scent."
